ABOUT
Shaina Childs
I started riding horses when I was six years old, but pictures of me as a kid will tell you that I was always into horses. I played with horse toys, watched horse TV shows, and would always point out a field of horses if we drove past it. I love Eventing in particular, though I have dabbled in Western riding and Hunter/Jumper. While I love the sport and perfecting my abilities, I don't like to compete, at least not at this point in my life. For now I am working on building my confidence and skill before competing under pressure and scrutiny. I currently lease a Thoroughbred horse named John Doe, or “J”. He is an older man, around 19 years old. I love him to death, and he has taught me so much in my two years of riding him. Outside of writing I am pursuing a degree in Psychology, and hope to one day become a researcher in Clinical and Forensic psychology. I will be attending Bryn Athyn College in the fall, and I plan to continue riding as much as possible. This blog is dedicated to documenting my progress and struggles as I ride, as well as giving unwarranted advice to whoever wants to read it.
